How to use Tubular Mesh

Tubular Mesh metallic ribbon is an amazing stringing material. With little skill you can create sophisticated top end designs sure to dazzle onlookers.

We are not producing a step by step tutorial here but rather a guide with a few pointers to get you started.

You may wonder how to string your beads onto your Tubular Mesh, we used two big eye needles and strung from both ends. Our beads are glass and gold filled of medium to light weight, with an internal hole diameter of greater than 1.2 mm.

Once we had the number of beads we were happy with on the metallic ribbon we centred the middle bead and began to pull the mesh out into abstract shapes. You can adjust the shapes and pull them straight if you want to try again, it takes a little manoeuvring if you want your beads to line up with each other.

You don’t need to glue the beads or crimp them they will stay in place once you have pulled the mesh wide.

To end the design we used our gold filled end cord fasteners and for safe measure added a little hot stuff glue prior to folding the fasteners over with a pair of pliers coated in tool magic.

Needless to say designs with Tubular Mesh are delicate and need careful care taken with storage and wear. Advise your customers of this and perhaps add a little card explaining this in your packaging.
