Lapis lazuli is one of the oldest of all gems, with a history of use stretching back 7,000 years. Deep blue in color and opaque, lapis lazuli was highly prized by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt, as can be seen by its prominent use in many of the treasures recovered from pharaonic tombs. Lapis lazuli beads and chips are extremely popular today.

Please note our gemstone bead descriptions as we cannot photograph each batch due to our high turnover. Gemstone rough is never the same and when cut can result in different quality beads within a batch and a strand of beads. If you require specific information please ask prior to purchase.

Tip: remove Lapis lazuli jewellery prior to housework and bathing as it is sensitive to certain agents and heat.
